Car history: |
paint is 984 safari yellow with std trim. The tank sticker is about half there showing all opt and motor. I have lic renews showing it was in cal for a long while. The tank sticker show a dealer zone in Northern Cal as orig. destination. The car spent most of its life in northern California so no rust issues. This a true numbers matching big block 427, 4speed, 1968 roadster with 2 tops. This car has been stored indors since 1992. The previous owner had it since the 80's and had plans to restore it. He had the car repainted and later had the motor rebuilt, then lost interest and stored the car. I pulled the old gas tank, put in another battery and it fired right off. It does drive but the brake calipers need to be rebuilt as they leak. The engine is an L36 390hp 427 completely matching #s except the alternator, starter, and carburetor. Transmission is a m21 close ratio 4speed. Power steering (leaky), factory soft top frame and optional vinyl hardtop, original p01 wheel covers, tach drive distributer, posi rear end, and newer 2 1/2 dual exhaust. The original color was Safari Yellow. No rust on frame or birdcage. Car has all of its original body panels (I believe) in good condition. The front grill and lower valance is broken, as well as the rear exhaust panel. Have bumpers, some dist. shielding and extra misc items including Cal. black plate. Large portion of tank sticker is included. Missing hood. Colors from the owner. 63,000 miles. May 14, 2008. |
